Privacy Preserving Record Linkage
Organizations often generate sensitive data, parts of which must be shared with other stakeholders for the purpose of research and analysis. Publishers, therefore, anonymize and encrypt data for reasons of security and privacy before sharing the data with subscribers. However, in some cases, the records belonging to the same entity generated by multiple publishers must be linked together. The project will develop a set of sophisticated privacy preserving record linkage protocols that uses strong cryptographic techniques to encrypt sensitive identifying information before sharing but does not require the encrypted information to be decrypted in order to perform linking.
